Topfruit
As Topfruit we name mainly apples (Malus sylvestris) and pears (Pyrus communis). Apples and pears belong today to the most famous fruits in Europe and due to special methods of storing (CA, Smartfresh, etc) they are able to be stored for long periods in coldrooms with nearly unchanged eating quality.

Braeburn
The Braeburn cultivar has his origin in New Zealand from the 1950s. The bi-coloured red-orange apple has a yellow-green background. The sizing is medium to large and it is crispy and has a complex sweet-herb taste, which is especially in Europe very popular.

Cripps Pink / Pink Lady
The Cripps Pink is a medium size apple and origins from Australia in 1973 as a cross from Lady Williams and Golden Delicious. The ground colour has a yellow skin with a solid pink/red blush. The flesh is creamy white. It is very crispy and has a fine sweet taste.

Granny Smith
The Grannys Smith cultivar originated in New South Wales, Australia in 1868. It is one of several apple cultivars that are high in antioxidant activity especially if eaten with the skin. It is also naturally low in calories and high in dietary fiber and potassium, making them recommended as healthy and weight loss diets. The colouration is green with a white flesh. The apple has generally a medium size and also a good storage potential.

Royal Gala (Tenroy)
The Royal Gala is a cultivar made from a spor of the Gala apple in the 1970s. It is a pink-red apple, in size relatively small, but has good storing abilities. The apple is firm and has a sweet taste, the fruit flesh is yellowish. The trade name is Royal Gala/Tenroy.

Pears
Abate Fetel
The Abate Fetel is a long pear, with a clubbed form and usually reaches a length of 12 cm and a width of 7 cm and counts to the biggest pear varieties. It is a sweet pear with a soft texture and a creamy flesh. It has got good storage potential.

Forelle (Vermont Beauty)
Forelle is a very attractive pear with a green-yellow skin and red blush. It has lots of small red spots, which looks like the skin of the Forelle (fish). The origin is France in 1670. It has a course texture with a delicately flavour.

Packhams Triumph
Packhams usually have an uneven form, a green-yellow skin and a white crispy fruit flesh. The fruit size is large to extra large. You can store Packhams very well and meanwhile have a market world wide. It is slightly sweet and good to eat.

Williams Bon Chretien
The origin of this variety was England 1770. The fruit is in general large, has a green-yellow skin often with a red blush with a smooth, fine and intense eating texture. The fruit is mainly used as fresh table pears, but also for canning as well as the production of liqueur.
