Selebi Phikwe Citrus

The Selebi Phikwe Citrus (SPC) Estate was set up in 2021. The new packhouse was officially opened in March 2024 by the president of the Republic of Botswana Mr. Mokgweetsi Masisi. 880 ha of citrus were planted with oranges, grapefruit, lemons and soft citrus. A total crop of about 9.000 tons is expected for the season 2024. The advantage of the Selebi Phikwe region is, that it is officially declared as a “citrus black spot” free area.

The land is leased from the local Mmadinare community for 31 years with an automatic renewal clause for a further 50 years. Water supply will be from two dam reservoirs, the Letsibogo and Sashe dams.
